About Imgvert

Imgvert is built by the small indie team behind two Chrome extensions people already use to convert images every day.

Who we are

We are the developers of the HEIC to PNG and WebP Converter Chrome extensions. Both convert images entirely on the user's device, and both taught us the same lesson: people don't want to upload their photos to a random server just to change a file format.

Imgvert brings that same approach to the open web — 17 converters across 10 image formats, no account, no upload, no limits.

How the tools work

Everything on this site runs client-side, in your browser. The same conversion engines that power our extensions — HEIC decoding, WebP/AVIF handling, TIFF and GIF encoding — do the work right on your machine. When you convert a file here, it never leaves your device: there is no server that receives it, stores it, or looks at it.

That is also why the tools are free. Processing happens on your hardware, so we don't pay for conversion servers and don't need to charge you or sell your data to cover them. See our privacy policy for the full picture.
